Scripture 2 Kings 20:1-6 (KJV)

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,

I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord.

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

Did you know that God can change the course of his plan for your life and destiny because of your fervent heartfelt prayers?  God can be set to complete one course of action and change his mind.    Prayer is one thing that touches the heart of God.  Prayer moves our Heavenly Father to the point that he inclines his ears to our prayers.  He will show himself strong in our lives and what we are going through for those whose heart is loyal to him. As I think to myself, why is that? And as I was reading the scripture God revealed to me that he is relational, and he is touched by what we our touched by that’s how much he loves and cares for us. He gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.  We can change God’s mind through fervent heartfelt prayer that is stemmed/fueled by our intimacy with Christ. When writing this article, I was directed to 2 King’s 20:1-6 with the prophet Isaiah and King Hezekiah.  The prophet Isaiah was informed to go tell King Hezekiah to get his affairs in order because he was going to succumb to his illness.  When the prophet told King Hezekiah this and leaves the room King Hezekiah cries out to God and begins to pray and God tells the prophet Isaiah to go back and tell the king that he has heard his prayer.  That he will not succumb to his illness and that God will add fifteen years onto his life!  Fervent heartfelt prayers will move God and touch his heart to the point that he will change his mind or course of action.  Just think that my prayers, your prayers have the ability to change the mind of the sovereign God.  That’s how much God loves and cares for us. So today, place yourself at the mercy of God and watch him move/intercede on your behalf.
